St Johnstone WFC return to ScottishPower Women’s Premier League 2 action this Sunday afternoon with a trip to Livingston.

Saints, who sit fifth in the standings and just four points behind this weekend’s hosts, are looking to bounce back from a recent defeat against Gartcairn.

The Perth side secured a 2-0 victory over Livingston at the beginning of the year and manager Kev Candy is targeting similar success.

Previewing this Sunday’s match, Candy said: “We’re looking forward to getting back on the road. We appear to be travelling slightly better at the moment.

“We have had a mixed bag of results against Livingston this season, although our result against them in January was a really positive one.

“The first half on that occasion was one of the best 45 minutes I think I’ve seen from us across the course of the season. If we produce that sort of standard of first half again, we’ll be on to something good.

“Livingston have had a change-over in management and coaching staff. What we knew and understood about them previously goes out the window, to a certain degree.

“But, as we always do, we’ll be focusing on our own play and what we can do well.”

Candy says positives were taken despite last week’s defeat against Gartcairn.

He added: “We came away without any points last Sunday but there are massive amounts of positives we can use to fuel ourselves going forward into the next game.”

Kick-off at the Almondvale Stadium on Sunday is 1pm.
