JORDAN MILLAR ON DEVELOPMENT SIDE'S HOME OPENER

26th July 2016

Before the St Johnstone Development squad play their first home game of the season Jordan Millar, their 18 year old goalkeeper, spoke to the Saints website about the season ahead.

The squad began their SPFL Development League campaign against Partick Thistle on the 4th August, winning 5-2. This Tuesday they will play Hamilton Accies at McDiarmid Park.

Jordan said: “It was a good result for us, the boys were different class in the second half. We had Cuptie (Dave Mackay) and Muzz (Murray Davidson) playing and I think they helped with their experience but I think the whole team played really well.

“It will be a tough game because Hamilton are usually a good side, so I’m looking forward to it and just need to prepare correctly for it and we should get a decent result from it.

“We were mid table last season and this season I think we’ve got a far superior team, I think we have got a really good chance of finishing top six if we work hard”.

Jordan also moved out on loan to Montrose FC for this season and so under the Development loan will be allowed to play for both their first team and St Johnstone’s Development side.

“I’m looking to get a few games under my belt over there, the new loan development is good because I was out on loan two seasons ago when I was at Hearts and when I was there you weren’t allowed to play for your under 20’s team so I’m quite glad they have made that new rule.

“My aims for this season are to try and play as many first team games at Montrose as I can and impress, and obviously to come back here and play on a Tuesday night for the under 20’s and show the Gaffer what I can do and that I’m worth my keep here”.

Saints play Hamilton Accies at McDiarmid Park tomorrow (Tuesday) night with a 6pm kick off. ST holders can enter for FREE otherwise it's £5 adults and £2 concessions.
