KYLE LANDER ON TONIGHT'S DERBY ENCOUNTER FOR U20's

26th July 2016

St Johnstone play Dundee in Montrose tonight (7pm kick off) and Kyle Lander spoke to the Saints Website about both that game and the 4-3 win over Hamilton Accies in the Development league two weeks ago.

“It was a great result, disappointed not to start but all I can do is try and come off the bench and try and put a mark down”.

Kyle came on and set up a goal for Connor Mclaren to score.

“It was just a lucky ball in to be honest, I knew Connor would be there with the pace he has got so I knew if I put it in then he would finish”.

The Development team have now won both their league games meaning they have a 100% record so far this season.

“It's a very good start, and I just hope that we can kick on from that. It was a great result against Hamilton because that was a strong team they had out so we take positives from that”.

Saints now play local rivals Dundee in tonight’s game at Links Park.

“It's a wee derby, it does mean a bit more, there is always meaty challenges going in but that’s just part and parcel of playing to be honest. Being a derby it does make it that much more entertaining”.

Kyle was also pleased to see Under 20’s team mate, Craig Thomson, on the first team bench for the recent home match with Motherwell.

“Craig deserved that, he works out day in day out and I hope he gets his rewards”.
