MATCH PREVIEW: SAINTS VERSUS KILLIE

MATCH PREVIEW: SAINTS VERSUS KILLIE

26th July 2016

Saints host 8th placed Kilmarnock tomorrow in the Ladbrokes Premiership, as we look to extend our three match winning run.

It will be St. Johnstone’s first home match since a 2-1 defeat to Partick Thistle on 17 October, Saints’ first home defeat since falling by the same scoreline to Celtic on Velentine’s Day last season.

Manager Tommy Wright will have captain Dave Mackay and top scorer Steven MacLean back in the squad following Saturday’s win at Hamilton Accies. Midfielder Chris Millar also comes back into contention after being missing from the side since September.

Despite losing at home to Motherwell last week, Killie will take confidence from picking up 7 points from their last three away matches (they picked up a point at Tynecastle and took the three points at Dundee United and Dundee).

Tomorrow is our ‘Armed Forces Day’ where we will show appreciation to those who have fought and sacrificed themselves in service to their country and to those who currently serve in our Armed Forces.

There are three main parts to the events: a parade around the pitch, starting at approximately 2.30pm which will feature the Perth & District Pipe Band, Royal Regiment of Scotland, Parachute Regiment, The Royal British Legion, Royal Logistic Corps, The Black Watch and Sea Cadets. Prior to kick-off there will be a wreath laying ceremony on the pitch followed by a Minute’s Silence. At half-time there will be a further commemoration event involving local school children.

All Current or Ex Servicemen/Women who come to the game in uniform, or with identification, will be admitted FREE of charge when entering the North End of the Main Stand through turnstiles 6 and 7.

There will also be can collections on the day to raise money for The Royal British Legion, to find out more about the charity please click here http://www.britishlegion.org.uk

Supporters are encouraged to come along earlier than normal to ensure they can enjoy the spectacle of the parade.
