Saints and Hibs played out a goalless draw last night (Tuesday) in the SPFL Development League in Airdrie.

The result was enough to end St. Johnstone four match losing run, in a game of few chances for either side.

Alistair Stevenson, Head of the Saints Youth Academy, said, “It was a hard fought point against Hibs, in a match where we had a lot of the ball in the first half and were really in the ascendency. But we seemed to run out of ideas a wee bit, which gave Hibs a foothold in the game after the break.”

He added, “So a draw was probably a fair result and we can take the big positive of keeping a clean sheet.”

Saints starting line up: Ben McKenzie, Cameron Lumsden, Cameron Thomson, Greg Page, Neil Martyniuk, Connor McLaren, Eoghan McCawl, Brad McKay (Jason Kerr – 75), Craig Thomson, Kyle Lander (Paul Esslemont – 70), George Hunter (Greg Kerr – 80). Sub not used: Ross Sinclair (GK).
