IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR FANS HEADING TO TYNECASTLE

26th July 2016

Ahead of tomorrow’s League Cup semi-final tie against Hibernian FC at Tynecastle Stadium in Edinburgh, the club wishes to share the following information to assist supporters and ensure the day is enjoyed by all:

The SPFL have issued the following message:

“All fans attending the Scottish League Cup Semi-Finals, presented by Utilita this weekend should note that enhanced search arrangements will be in place at these fixtures. This additional safety measure has the potential to delay entry into the ground so fans are strongly encouraged to get to the Stadium as early as possible. Turnstiles will be open 1 ½ hours before kick-off i.e. 1.30pm.”

Supporters who are booked on the early buses from McDiarmid Park, departing at 9.30am, should note that the Muirton Suite will be open for hot filled rolls, tea and coffee from 8.30am and until bus departure time.

The Suite will open again at 11am to provide the same service (plus bar facility) for supporters travelling on the later buses which depart at 12.30pm.

Supporters are asked to ensure that they get on the bus displaying the coloured poster which corresponds with the colour of their bus ticket. Supporters are free to leave their cars at McDiarmid Park.

St Johnstone buses will be parked in Russell Road in Edinburgh and this is where supporters will be dropped off and where buses will be at the end of the game. Bus access to Russell Road is via Glasgow Road, St Johns’s Road, Corstorphine Road, Haymarket Junction, Dalry Road, Gorgie Road, McLeod Street and onto Russell Road as directed. HOWEVER, it is important to note that at 1.30pm McLeod Street will close to all vehicles and any buses arriving after that time will need to access Russell Road via Glasgow Road, St Johns’s Road, Corstorphine Road, turn left at Roseburn Junction and onto Russell Road.

Please make sure you get on the same bus for your return journey!!

Once at Tynecastle:

• Turnstiles will open at 1.30pm • Searches will be made on the approaches to the ground so please factor this into your plans
• Alcohol and pyrotechnics are strictly prohibited in the ground and supporters may be turned away if they are deemed to be drunk on arrival • Supporters should use the row and seat number as shown on their ticket. As the stand is sold out it is not permissible to use a seat other than the one you have a ticket for • Supporters found in the wrong area of the ground (i.e. amongst opposition support) will be ejected from the stadium • Please respect the property of the host club, Heart of Midlothian FC. St Johnstone FC will be charged in full for any damage caused to the infrastructure of the stadium
• Do NOT let the name of the club down with regards to pyrotechnics, pitch incursions etc. The Club WILL be held to account for any such misbehaviour.

Finally, enjoy the day, don’t forget your bus and match tickets and let’s roar the Saintees onto victory!!
