St. Johnstone's Development side, featuring first team players Liam Gordon, Michael Coulson, George Hunter, Eoghan McCawl and Graham Cummins, held Celtic to a 1-1 draw on Monday night at Cappielow.
Saints took the lead through a Graham Cummins penalty on 28 minutes after the Bhoys' defender Jamie McCart was judged to have handled the ball in the area.
Celtic then had a penalty of their own which was well saved by Ben McKenzie before Mark Hill's drive, in the 39th minute, equalised for the home side after good work from PJ Crossan.
Early in the second half another penalty was awarded to Saints but George Hunter, who had earned the spotkick after being fouled by Sam Wardrop, saw his effort palmed away by Ross Doohan to keep the scores level.

Alistair Stevenson, Head of the Saints Youth Academy, said: "It was a very competitive game where either side could have gone on to win it. Both teams had chances and both teams missed a penalty.
"A good aspect about the performance was that the team improved and got stronger as the game went on.
"It's always good to take something from Celtic and it was a good experience for our younger players."
