Tommy Wright and Michael O'Halloran are very well acquainted and the manager delighted to have the 28-year-old forward playing under him once again.

O'Halloran signed a two-and-a-half-year-deal with the club today following a spell in Australia with A-League outfit Melbourne City.

Speaking to the club's official website, the manager said he was delighted to bring the former Bolton and Rangers man back to Saints for a third time.

"It's great news," Tommy said, "we've been talking to him since we knew he was going to be leaving Australia and coming home so it's great to get it over the line.

"Things maybe haven't gone quite as well as Michael would have hoped since he left but I have complete faith in his abilities. I think his heart is here and it's great to have him back.

"Michael has always excited me with the way he plays. He has pace, an eye for goal, and he creates chances for his teammates.

"I said to him that he should picture himself and what it'll be like for him to play in a team with so much attacking quality and threat.

"I think he's relishing it and I'm certainly excited about working with him again and the rest of the squad. It's a fantastic group of players."

The manager was also quick to praise the Chairman, Steve Brown, for his role in bringing O'Halloran back to McDiarmid Park.

"The Chairman deserves a lot of credit," he said, "he was quick to get the deal done and I think it shows a lot of intent from him and from the club.

"It shows that we're still looking to keep improving and it highlights just the types of players we want to bring to this football club."

The club can also announce the signing of 17-year-old Marky Munro from Falkirk.

The defender will join the club's youth and reserve squads managed by Alan Maybury.

The manager said: "Marky is a talented young player with a lot of potential.

"He's a player that Alan Maybury knows from his time at Falkirk and he was the one who alerted us to Marky. He's a player with a bright future in the game and we're pleased to have secured his signature."
