Saints travel to Glasgow tonight to face Rangers in the Scottish Premiership. Both sides go into the game on the back of a defeat, Saints losing 2-0 to Kilmarnock on Saturday and Rangers 2-1 to Inverness on Friday evening. Despite the defeat, Saints stayed 5th in the Scottish Premiership, 7 points ahead of Tayside rivals Dundee in 6th. Danny Swanson, Keith Watson and Graham Cummins have all trained this week after injury lay offs and should be available for selection and Liam Craig is back from suspension. Chris Kane however is sidelined with a knock he picked up against Kilmarnock and Murray Davidson remains injured.

The two sides have met twice this season, with both games resulting in 1-1 draws. Blair Alston scored the opener for Saints at Ibrox last October before Rangers equalised through Joe Garner. Rangers then travelled to McDiarmid in late December, when Steven MacLean was the goal scorer for Saints after Barrie McKay had opened the scoring for Rangers.

Speaking midweek, Saints manager Tommy Wright acknowledged the importance of the game after Saturday's disappointing defeat.

"Naturally we are disappointed to have lost against Kilmarnock, but I know that my players are ready to go on Wednesday.

"Our home form hasn't been nearly as good as our away form which has been a problem, but despite the match against Kilmarnock we've had a really good season.

"Rangers aren't in the position they want to be. But we know they can be dangerous, we must play as we have done against the teams above us this season to hopefully get a positive result."
