Cleveland joined the club on the last day of June 2010 on a one year deal having been released by Brentford half way through a two year contract. The pacey winger learned his trade at Bolton Wanderers where he spent four years in their youth academy and a loan spells at a couple of club paved the way for a permanent move to Scunthorpse United where he enjoyed a usccessful spell which included playing all bar one game of the The Irons' 2006/2007 League One championship success. A move to Carlisle United followed and he was voted the Cumbrians' Player of the Year. In the summer of 2009 Cleveland - who has Jamaican Under 20 and Olympic Under 23 honours to his name - moved to Brentford but it was a move which didn't work out and he spent the latter half of the 2009-2010 season on loan at Burton Albion. Watched on a number of occasions by the Perth managements team while with The Brewers, Cleveland signed a one year deal for the 2010/2011 SPL season and within minutes of coming on as a substitute against Hearts on the opening day of the season, he had set up a goal for Sam Parkin.
