We are delighted to confirm that goalkeeper Craig Hepburn has signed a new deal at McDiarmid Park.
Heppy has extended his current contract until June 2029 following a hugely succesful season on loan at both Brechin City and East Kilbride.
Craig spent the first half of the season at Glebe Park before joining Mick Kennedy’s League Two outfit for a promotion push in January. Five cleansheets and a string of top saves helped East Kilbride secure promotion into League One.
Speaking after penning his new deal, Craig, 21, said: “This just tops off a great season for me personally. I have had two really succesful loan spells at both Brechin and East Kilbride.
“Last season I wasn’t really playing much, so to get plenty of games in me has been great. When you are young it is so important to play games.
“You need to go into an environment where you are unsettled a wee bit. When you get out of your comfort zone it will make you a better player and I feel both moves have done that for me.
“Having watched the celebrations when we lifted the Scottish Championship title at home to Raith Rovers, it spurred me on to try and replicate it with East Kilbride. It was a special few days.”
Looking ahead to the future, Heppy added: “My whole family supports St Johnstone. It is a special club for all of us. I love coming in and working with the guys and Gordon Marshall every day.
“Going forward I just want to play as many games as possible. I’m still young, but the aim is to just keep on playing.”
