We are delighted to announce that midfielder Jason Holt has signed a one-year contract extension.
Our title-winning captain is now with us at McDiarmid Park until the summer of 2027.
Jason created memories to last a lifetime during the 2025/26 season but is already focused on making our return to the top-flight a successful one.
He said: “I’m really, really pleased to extend my stay. Last season was very positive on and off the pitch.
“You form a really strong connection with the fans and people about the stadium. To be part of that again next season is very pleasing for me.
“We have a tight-knit group of players. You could see the bond we formed off the pitch – and that translated onto the pitch.
“We’re all aware how difficult next season will be. But of course we want to go up to the top league, be competitive and give it a real good go.
“We had the end of season trip, which was nice for the boys after all the hard work. There is a little bit of downtime, but we already have our pre-season programme to crack on with.”
Jason paid tribute to the incredible and continuing support from the fans, both on a personal level and for the team.
He said: “If you can get a connection and bond with the fans, it makes your time at the club even more special.
“When the fans were up at the stadium on the Saturday after the Raith game, we spent a lot of time with them. It was great just to chat and feel their appreciation.
“But our message back to them was ‘thank you’. We thanked them all season for their efforts because it is not always easy travelling to games. It can be a lot of money.
“Their support has been really special, so it meant a lot to be able to reward them with winning the league and lifting the trophy.”
With season tickets for our Scottish Premiership return on sale, Jason would love to see everyone – and more – down at McDiarmid Park.
He said: “The fans maybe don’t realise how big a part they play. If fans, players, staff and club are together as one, then it will give us the best chance to be successful on the pitch.”
