In addition to the popular St Johnstone Crossbar Challenge for individual adult supporters and youth football teams, the club is delighted to introduce a brand-new initiative for the 2026/27 season aimed at youth groups and organisations from across Perthshire and beyond.
For the first time, organised youth groups will have the opportunity to take part in the challenge at half-time during selected St Johnstone home matches at McDiarmid Park.
Any organised group for young people aged under 18 is welcome to apply, including sports teams, youth clubs, scouts, guides, cadets, schools, dance schools, pipe bands, music groups, community groups and more.
Groups selected to take part will receive up to 20 complimentary match tickets, including their nominated challenger and accompanying adults, allowing members to enjoy a fantastic day out while cheering on their representative from the stands.
Each selected group will nominate one participant, aged between 11 and 17, to take on the challenge. Standing just outside the penalty area, they will have one attempt, or perhaps more if time permits, to hit the crossbar. If successful, they could win a cash prize for their group or organisation*.
Groups will be selected at random and contacted in advance of an upcoming home match with full details of the challenge and ticket arrangements.
Participating groups are responsible for ensuring appropriate adult supervision in line with their own organisation’s safeguarding policies. A minimum of two responsible adults should attend with each group.

Participants in the St Johnstone Crossbar Challenge take part at their own risk and the challenge remains subject to pitch conditions and operational requirements.
