We can confirm that on-loan defender Zach Mitchell will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a knee injury in our recent William Hill Premiership match against Falkirk.
Zach has the full support of everyone at the club and has now returned to Charlton Athletic to continue his rehab.
The 21-year-old, who was in his second loan spell at McDiarmid Park, had started the season strongly and was again a popular figure on and off the pitch at McDiarmid Park.
Zach wished to provide the following message:
I’m gutted not to be able to continue the season after what I feel has been a positive start with so much potential.
I love playing for St Johnstone, and both of my spells at the club have been really incredible experiences that I’ll always be grateful for. Thank you to everyone who has made me feel part of such a great club, especially the fans for their incredible support and for always making me feel welcome. It’s been a pleasure to play for you.
I’m proud to have been part of St Johnstone again, and I hope our paths cross in the future. Until then, I’ll be supporting the boys and wishing everyone at the club all the best for the rest of the season.
