Goalkeeper Toby Steward provided his reaction to our 1-1 William Hill Premiership draw with Dundee United.
The shot-stopper on loan from Portsmouth put in another assured performance between the posts as the Saints added to their league total.
Striker Josh Fowler had given us the lead in the first half.
Toby said: “It is a respectable point because Dundee United are a good team and use the ball well.
“It is, however, always disappointing to finish level when you go one up. We maybe could have pushed on and got those three points, but it’s still a decent point.
“Josh has done really well to get us off the mark. He’s been doing brilliantly recently. We wanted to go again and there were chances. Sam [Stanton] had a chance that on another day trickles in and doubles our lead.
“We want to always play but, at the same time, teams will punish you if you aren’t perfect.”
Toby added: “I was happy with how I played. It’s my job to help keep us in with a chance of winning the game.
“Overall it has been a positive start to the season. We’ve shown we can compete at this level. We’ve had games where we have defended really well and others where our football has been really attacking.”
