Our home fixture against Dundee this Saturday, November 7, has been designated as our annual Focus on Foodbanks match, as the club and Saints Fans Supporting Foodbanks look to raise awareness and boost donations for those in need across Perth and Kinross.
The fantastic team at Saints Fans Supporting Foodbanks are an ever-present at our home matches, collecting donations for Perth and Kinross Foodbank and Saints in the Community.
With the support of both home and away supporters, this weekend’s dedicated collection aims to maximise donations of food and toiletries to help local foodbanks meet the growing demands they face throughout the winter months.
Saints Fans Supporting Foodbanks, alongside St Johnstone Football Club, are determined to continue doing their bit for the community we love and provide a significant boost to local foodbank stocks over the coming months and beyond.
Saints Fans Supporting Foodbanks coordinator, Colin MacKay, said: “Over the past three years it has been absolutely phenomenal what the fans have produced, especially on the Focus on Foodbanks designated matchdays.
“The response for this year’s match has been beyond our wildest dreams to be honest. The moto for the Focus on Foodbanks movement is ‘hunger doesn’t wear club colours’ so we hope both sets of fans come together this weekend.
“We hope it will be another bumper collection. We appreciate anything anyone can give. Long life milk is very important at the moment.
“The club’s support means absolutely everything to us. We get more backing than anywhere else in the country.
“Without them we really wouldn’t get the size of collections that we do. The Foodbank would be a lot worse off.”
Saints Fans Supporting Foodbanks will be collecting donations at their new, permanent position between the Geoff Brown Stand and the Ormond Stand.
The club would like to thank everyone who continues to support this fantastic initiative. Every donation, no matter how small, can make a real difference to individuals and families across our local community.
