Goalkeeper Toby Steward praised the team spirit and travelling fans as we picked up three points against Ross County on Friday night.
The shot-stopper on loan from Portsmouth certainly played his part with a clean sheet performance at the Global Energy Stadium.
Uche Ikpeazu netted the winner in the closing stages of the game.
Steward said: “I’m glad we were able to get the win in the end. It was a tough battle but all that mattered was the three points.
“The gaffer said that we needed to be patient. I had a feeling Uche was going to score when he came on.
“I never really celebrate goals because I like to wait until the end of the game. My mum gets on at me about that! I was relieved at full-time.”
Steward also made sure to thank his team-mates in front of him.
He said: “It is my job to keep clean sheets and that is what I’m here for. There will be games when we’re going to have to battle for that and I’m happy to make an impact on the game.
“The boys all battled hard on Friday and I really appreciate that because they helped me out a lot.”
He added: “It was great to celebrate with the fans at the end because they made a long journey up. They deserved it.
“It’s a great family club and the fans are amazing. They turn out for us every week and that is just the best for us as players.”
