Liam Smith was pleased to help the Saints to a clean sheet after making his return from injury against Ross County on Saturday.
And he is confident the goals will return at the other end following the 0-0 stalemate at McDiarmid Park.
The Saints had plenty of the ball and got into promising positions, but just missed the final piece of the puzzle to secure victory.
Liam said: “It was frustrating to not come away with the three points. But if you take a step back and look at the performance, we have dominated from start to finish.
“I’m not sure what the stats will say, but I’d imagine we were on top in them all. The only thing we never did was put the ball in the back of the net.
“We got into their box a lot and they defended well with a lot of bodies. Sometimes it can be hard to find that wee yard to get the shot away.
“We hit the post and were unlucky not to come away with the three points. Fans, players and staff obviously want to win every game. If we perform like we did, we’ll win more than we’ll draw.
“We’ll get there and it is just a matter of time before the goals start coming again.”
Liam added: “I was delighted to get the nod. I found out later in the week and had to trust the rehab I did with the medical team. So fair play to them.
“I managed to get 90 minutes in the legs and hopefully I can build on it now. It was frustrating that I got injured because you want to get going as quickly as possible. Now I’m fully fit and part of the group, I’m looking to kick on.”
