Scott Bright has enjoyed a successful spell at loan club Forfar Athletic – and is determined to push on further.

The left-sided defender has helped The Loons to convincing back-to-back league wins against Stirling Albion and Dumbarton respectively.

A 4-0 win on the road against Stirling Albion was quickly followed up by a 4-1 triumph away at Dumbarton to push Forfar towards the right end of the table.

They sit fifth in League Two but are now within striking distance of the teams directly above them as we enter a busy Christmas schedule.

Scott said: “It has been a good loan spell so far. I’m playing games and, of course, that is the main thing. I want to be playing as many games as possible.

“Our last two league games have been particularly good. I feel the team is starting to gel together really well. We have chopped and changed our shape at times, but we have settled and now we just want to keep the performances up.

“I have mainly been playing left wing-back and that is ideal for me. We have five or six games through until the new year so we’ll be aiming to take as many points as we can and see where it takes us.”

Forfar’s manager is St Johnstone legend Jim Weir.

Scott laughed: “I’m a bit young to remember him playing for Saints!

“He has been really good with me. I’ve been fortunate because I’ve worked under a lot of different styles of management across the loan clubs I’ve been at.

“I’m always trying to learn, improve myself and add different things to my game. I continue to learn from the staff at Saints and those at Forfar too.”

Forfar are preparing for a home game against East Kilbride this Saturday.

Scott said: “There are no easy games in the league and the teams can all beat each other. It is always competitive and that is what you want. You always want to be challenged.

“This is the third team I’ve been on loan at. I’ve been lucky because all three have been very welcoming – and that makes my experience much easier. You know you are in good hands.”
