Ali McCann was another player who joined St Johnstone at a young age before progressing through the academy.

Comfortable playing right-back, McCann was moved into the centre of midfield and started to flourish through the age groups.

He made his St Johnstone debut in a 4-0 Scottish Cup win against Albion Rovers in 2018 and had a productive loan spell at Stranraer.

McCann became a regular starter in the middle of the park and was a key figure in our cup double-winning campaign, starring on both the domestic and European stage.

The Northern Ireland international departed for Preston North End in 2021, where he continues to impress.
