Aileen is a lifelong Saintee, born and brought up in Perthshire. She now oversees Scotland’s grassroots girls’ and women’s game as CEO at Scottish Women’s Football.

Having previously served as an MSP and Scottish Government cabinet secretary, Aileen brings experience from a diverse range of national portfolios including sport, children and young people, communities, and local government.

Aileen chose to stand down from elected politics in 2021. That decision not only led to the privilege of working in football; it also allowed her to regularly return to the stands at McDiarmid Park as a season ticket holder.

Supporting Saints is, of course, a family affair. Just as Aileen’s dad took her to a brand new McDiarmid Park when she was a pupil at Collace Primary, she now travels from Biggar with her husband and two boys every other week to cheer on our team.
