Derek McInnes has secured a new face ahead of the trip to Livingston

Derek McInnes has this afternoon secured the services of Kilmarnock player Alan Morgan and the six footer goes straight into the squad for tonight’s Co-operative Insurance Cup tie at Livingston.

The manager was keen on the 24 year old while he was with Inverness Caledonian Thistle and made enquiries about his availability not long after taking up the Perth hot seat, however Kilmarnock stepped in with a two year deal. The clubs have agreed a deal which will see Morgan play for Saints until the end of 2008.

“I’m delighted to have secured Alan’s services” McInnes told the Saints Official Website this afternoon. “It’s no secret that we need a left back but what pleases me is that this is a player who I genuinely admire and made enquires about previously. He’s a tall lad with a good turn of pace. For one reason or another he hasn’t been a regular with Killie but he has SPL experience and that can only benefit us.”

Tonight’s match at Almondvale kicks-off at 7.45pm
