Saints reserves lose out to Cowdenbeath

Saints reserves went down 1-0 to Cowdenbeath at Central Park tonight, the Fife side scoring the only goal in the final five minutes of the game.

Saints had a number of chances to score, particularly in the first half, but couldn’t convert them – the closest we came was when a Martin Hardie (pictured)effort struck the post and rebounded in the arms of the Cowdenbeath keeper.

Saints: Kelly, Sullivan, Lindsay, McKoy, Anderson, James, Moon, Kerr (Reynolds), Jackson, Hardie, Morgan. Subs not used: McCallion, May, Quinn, Clark

Meanwhile, a goal from former Saints striker Dyron Daal gave Ross County a 1-0 win over Partick Thistle in Dingwall, thereby preserving Saints’ three point lead at the top of the table – that lead would have been trimmed to just a single point had the Glasgow side won. In the other game tonight, Morton defeated Airdrie United 2-0.
