DEREK'S THOUGHTS ON WIN OVER AIRDRIE

26th July 2016

Saints gaffer pleased with response

“Good – very good in parts” was how Derek McInnes described the performance of his players in yesterday’s 3-0 win over Airdrie United.

The Perth gaffer felt that apart from the opening five minutes when his side sat too deep that Saints were the better team throughout.

“It was the reaction I wanted after the defeat” said Del. “Our creative players got on the ball a lot and it was a good team performance overall, particularly at this stage of the season.”

The manager also felt Saints were denied a stonewall penalty when Kevin Moon was hauled to the ground in the first half (pictured).
