The new season got off to a disappointing start as holders Saints fell to a 2-1 Challenge Cup defeat at Ross County.

David Winters and Sean Higgins got the home side 2-0 up on 53 and 65 minutes respectively, and although Collin Samuel (pictured)got off the mark for Saints in the 84th, it was too little too late.
Saints had been hampered by the early loss of Steven Milne and Steven Anderson in the first half, with the extent of their injuries as yet unknown.
