Aberdeen Match Preview

We welcome Aberdeen to McDiarmid Park for our final home league fixture of the season.

Saints come into the game after a last minute Jack Fitzwater goal which meant the spoils were shared at the Tony Macaroni Arena

Glenn Middleton headed the Perthshire men ahead after a brilliant cross from fellow substitute James Brown on 76 minutes. However, the home side drew level in the final minute of regulation time as Fitzwater converted at the back post after Scott Pittman had been denied by a fantastic fingertip save from Zander Clark.

There was one final chance for Saints at the death when Callum Hendry went through one on one but hit his effort straight at Ivan Konovalov in the Livi goals. Saints are now six points clear of bottom club Dundee, who lost 2-0 at St Mirren today, and have a seven-goal advantage with two league games remaining.

Aberdeen also come having drawn 1-1 in their previous fixture, having been held to a point at Easter Road. Aberdeen went ahead just before the hour mark when David Bates steered home after Declan Gallagher headed it in his direction.

Hibs responded well to going and were rewarded when Sylvester Jasper dinked a ball to the back post and James Scott nodded down to McGinn, who knocked in from a yard out. The point mathematically secured Aberdeen’s safety in the top flight
