Last Friday’s display of pyrotechnics at the Raith Rovers match was dangerous, disappointing, and unacceptable. Those involved have placed the club and our supporters at risk. We do not need to reiterate that the use of pyrotechnics in football grounds is a criminal offence and has caused serious injuries to supporters, including children, in the past.
Following Friday’s game, we are working with the relevant authorities to identify those responsible. Any individuals found to have been involved will face appropriate action in line with club policies and current legislation. The use of pyrotechnics puts fellow supporters, players, staff, and stewards at risk, and exposes the club to significant sanctions and potential financial penalties.
We fully appreciate the passion and backing our fans bring to matches at McDiarmid Park and around the country. However, dangerous and illegal conduct should play no part in the support of St Johnstone.
