The club was this week honoured to add long-time supporter John Stewart to the shareholder list. As a birthday present, John’s son Graeme purchased his share and frame certificate from the club.
Speaking after being presented with his certificate, John said: “It was a lovely surprise. I really didn’t have any clue at all it was happening.
“My first game was November 1, 1947. I have no doubt there are plenty people going around who can compete with that, but there may not be too many left.
“I have the perfect spot for my certificate in the hall in the house. It will take pride of place.”
John’s son Graeme added: “I have been after something for my dad’s 88th birthday for a while and this just fitted perfectly.
“I had made enquires over the past few years and Adam listened. He has taken it on and this is the result. Fans now have the chance to own a piece of club history.”
Every shareholder becomes an owner of their club and is welcomed to attend our annual AGM. All funds collected go directly to support the club’s efforts both on and off the pitch.
