Josh Fowler is excited to build on his debut season with St Johnstone as attention turns to our top-flight return.

The forward, who arrived at the club in January, has been reflecting on a title-winning campaign with the Saints.

He was quickly impressed by the strong bond in the dressing room and immediately felt the positive connection between players and supporters.

Fowler said: “I’ve absolutely loved this experience so far. I already knew a couple of the boys when I first came in.

“From the first session, I realised how good the standard was and could see why the team was top of the league.

“I feel I adapted quickly and settled well with everyone around the club. So the transition was an easy one for me.

“One of the first things I noticed was how much of a family everyone was. That was really nice to see.”

Fowler continued: “My first game was against Partick and we conceded really late on. You are obviously frustrated because we had dropped points.

“But everyone remained calm and was just so focused on getting the end job done. That kind of mindset was really nice for me to see.

“The gaffer was calm, my team-mates were calm. That backing and belief helped us moving forward.

“I feel I worked hard for the team, worked hard for the badge and I think the gaffer could see that. And I did manage to chip in with a couple of goals.

“My standout moment of the season was probably that goal away at Arbroath. You are always disappointed not to start a game, but you need to show a reaction when you come on.

“It was an important goal, and I just remember how good our away support was that day. It was just raw emotion when I jumped in to celebrate with the fans. I feel I already have a good relationship with them.”

After enjoying title-winning celebrations, the hard work will now continue before pre-season commences in mid-June.

Fowler said: “If you had told me when I was coming back from Dubai to sign for Queen’s Park that I’d then go on to sign for Saints and when the Championship, I’d laugh at you.

“I’d never played in a professional league in Scotland before so to come in and be part of a title-winning team was massive for me. And I’m really proud.

“Collectively, as a group, it was just an amazing feeling. You grow so close to the boys and you want to battle for them.

“It was such a good feeling to get the job done and we had a good party. I think we deserved it.

“The celebrations after the Dunfermline game were so much fun. The gaffer and the owner were there too. It proved how close we are as a club. Then there was trophy day where we could celebrate with the fans. Amazing memories.”

Fowler went on: “We have our plans for the off-season. You need a little time to let the body recover. But you quickly get back in the gym and put the work in.

“I have always wanted to play at the highest level that I can. I’m now playing in the highest level in the country. I know it will be a huge test and it won’t be easy. But I like these challenging moments and I can’t wait for it.

“Everyone knows we have some great players – and experience too. We have a great gaffer and coaching staff too.”

Fowler praised the backing received from the supporters throughout the 2025/26 campaign – and hopes fans can purchase their season tickets for our top-flight return.

He said: “From the minute I came in, I saw how much this club means to the fans. The support was brilliant home and away. We will need them even more for the new season. What they do for us is always appreciated.”
