Josh McPake netted his first goal of the season as Saints ran out 3-1 winners at McDiarmid Park against Raith Rovers in the Premier Sports Cup.
The winger latched on to an Adama Sidibeh square ball before putting away a calm finish past Raith keeper Josh Rae.
Strikers Jamie Gullan and Makenzie Kirk netted the other two goals to ensure we remain top of Group F in the competition.
Speaking after the game, Josh said: “I am pleased. The gaffer was on me before the game to get in and amongst the goals.
“I was delighted when Adama squared it to me and I was happy to put it away.
“I am delighted for Makenzie and Jamie getting on the scoresheet too and the whole team for getting the win. We now move on to Elgin and get ready for a tough game.”
Josh added: “I have worked hard over the summer and I know what the club are looking for this season.
“I am very happy with myself. It is still early days in the season but I think I have started well.
“I think all of the boys have started well and I just think we need to keep it going.”
