Livingston Match Preview

St Johnstone travel to Livingston for their next Cinch Premiership clash.

Saints come into their trip to Livingston having missed out on the opportunity to close the gap on tenth placed St Mirren after a disappointing 1-0 loss.

The best chance fell to Callum Hendry but he dragged his effort narrowly wide. The only goal of the game came on 53 minutes as Greg Kiltie met a ball across the box, sweeping it past Zander Clark.

The result leaves the Perthshire men in eleventh place in the league, 5 points clear of bottom club Dundee but 8 points behind Aberdeen and St Mirren with 3 games remaining.

Livingston moved above Hibs to seventh in the Scottish Premiership after beating them 1-0 at the Tony Macaroni Arena.

Scott Pittman opened the scoring in style after being played in by Andrew Shinnie. Pittman lifted the ball into the top of the net marking his record breaking appearance as he become Livingston's record top-flight appearance holder with 124.

Liam Gordon Interview

“The most disappointing thing from Saturday’s game was having our fight and character questioned. Its something for me personally I pride myself upon, it’s disappointing the way it went on Saturday, but we have a game this weekend to make amends from it.”

“Saturday was a horrible result; it wasn’t a great performance from us. Realistically we knew that was our chance to get away from the play-offs and that looks unlikely now. We need to accept that, now we need to focus on securing the play-offs and staying above Dundee, because they can still catch us. We have to stay switched on and keep getting as many points as possible.

“The fans need to keep supporting us, it can be difficult at times, especially this year. But they have been the 12th man for us all season and we will need them for one final push.”
