Match Preview: St Johnstone vs Dundee

2nd October 2021

The second Tayside derby of the season between St Johnstone and Dundee takes place at McDiarmid Park later today.

In their first meeting this season, a jaw-dropping performance from Zander Clark in the first half denied the Dee from taking the lead, which allowed for goals from Shaun Rooney and Ali Crawford to seal the Saints place in the Premier Sports Cup semi-final.

Callum Davidson’s men are looking to bounce back after a controversial loss at Easter Road last weekend. A dubious penalty decision was all that separated Hibernian and St Johnstone.

James McPake’s side also come into this game following a frustrating 1-0 loss to Rangers. Dundee also finished the month without scoring a single goal and are still currently searching for their first win of the season.

This is a match that should be full of excitement, especially for Liam Craig who could play for St Johnstone for the 442nd time, making him the club’s record appearance holder.

No covid passports are required for today's game.
