We are delighted to announce the signing of defender Matty Foulds on a two-year deal, subject to clearance.
Matty, a left-back who is also comfortable in a central position, was most recently playing his football with English League Two side Harrogate Town.
Matty was snapped up by Everton at a young age and has since picked up valuable experience with Como, Bradford City and then Harrogate.
After signing for the Saints, Matty said: “It has been a quick turnaround since I first heard of the interest. I had chat with a few players who had been here before and they spoke highly of the head coach and the club.
“It’s a big thing for myself and for my family. We chatted about it and we felt it was a no-brainer to bring everyone up. The time feels right.
“I have watched a lot of Scottish football and this is a new challenge for me. I’m really just looking forward to getting going now.
“There would have been disappointment at the end of last season but I know this is a great club with a great community. It’s exciting to be part of it.”
Explaining what he hopes to bring to the team, Matty added: “First of all I’m a defender. If you keep clean sheets, you set the platform for a successful season and always have a chance of winning games.
“As well as defending, I do like to get forward and put crosses into the box. I just want to help the team as much as possible. I can be versatile and can play left of a three, left of a two or left-back.”
