Defender Matty Foulds was pleased with the nature of our victory at Pittodrie.
He believes the win against Aberdeen showed versatility and that the squad is always ready to dig deep to grind out three points when required.
Matty said: “It’s a massive win. We knew it was going to be tough.
“We would have liked to have had more of the ball, but we found a different way to win a football match. It was a solid defensive performance.
“We had been itching to get back to playing. I hope the fans saw that. We appreciate them again because they’ve come out in their numbers to support us.”
With Cheick Diabate suspended and Zach Mitchell returning to Charlton due to injury, it was a new-look back three of Matty, Dan Finlayson and Liam Smith.
Matty said: “It was new for us playing together in that formation. But we have all played enough games to understand what our role was. It was important that we talked with each other to get through the game.
“You sometimes need to bide your time and, when you get your chance, take it. It was just a massive three points on the road.
“We demand a lot out of each other in training. You always need to be spot on. Even the lads who didn’t come on for this particular game, everyone has a massive part to play. We’re all together.
“We look to the the next game now. It’s going to be another tough one.”
