We are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Matty Todd.
The 24-year-old was a standout performer in the Scottish Championship last season for Dunfermline Athletic.
A fierce competitor, Matty joins the Saints on a two-year contract through until the summer of 2028.
Matty said: “This is a club with great aspirations and I’m really delighted to be a part of that.
“I’ve had a few calls with the gaffer, who told me everything about the club. It all appealed to me so much, and I just could not turn this down.
“I’ll look to bring a lot of energy, drive and quality in the final third. I want to produce moments that help the team win games.
“I’ve seen the quality within the squad already and I know I’ll need to hit the ground running in pre-season to get in the gaffer’s plans straight away.”
Apart from a loan spell at Brechin City, Matty has spent his whole professional career at Dunfermline Athletic.
He is now excited for a fresh chapter and to meet all his new team-mates on Monday.
Matty said: “I’m thankful to Dunfermline for everything they have done for me. I was there as a young boy.
“I’m excited to take the next step. I feel St Johnstone, in the Scottish Premiership, is a great place to do that.
“Last season, Saints were the toughest opponents in the league and thoroughly deserved to go up as champions.
“You could see it was a great, ball-playing team. The gaffer has instilled that into the squad and, as I say, I’m glad to now be part of it.
“I’ve had a couple of weeks to rest and recover but this is something I am really looking forward to. I can’t wait to get started and to meet all the supporters. Hopefully we can all have a successful season in the top-flight together.”
