Preview | Kilmarnock (A)

30th January 2021

SATURDAY 30TH FEBRUARY 2021

Today, we are back on the road to face Kilmarnock for the first of three consecutive away League Cup games.

Saints will be looking to develop on Wednesday night's clash against Aberdeen. The game followed the familiar pattern of St Johnstone vs Aberdeen this season, tight and physical.

It was a game of few chances as both teams set up to cancel each other out. Although the match finished 0-0 this can be seen as a valuable point for the Saints against a physical Aberdeen side.

Today we face Kilmarnock at Rugby Park, and this game is slowly growing in importance as three points are crucial as this is the start of a challenging three away game spell.

This upcoming spell includes away games against Rangers and high flying Livingston, so coming away with three points today is vital.

Craig Bryson spoke to the media earlier on in the week and expressed how important a win would be against Kilmarnock: " We want to pick up more points, to get more wins on the board so we can move up that table and try finish in the top 6."

Kilmarnock comes into today's game having lost their last two games and find themselves sitting one spot above Saints in the table.
