We are delighted to announce the signing of defender Reghan Tumilty, who joins the club on a one-year deal.

The right-back, 28, was a top performer with Hamilton last season and, during his time in South Lanarkshire, helped them to promotion and Challenge Cup success.

Reghan came through the youth ranks of Dundee United before going on to play for the likes of Ross County, Morton, Raith Rovers and Hartlepool Town.

He is now excited to test himself as a St Johnstone player.

Reghan explained: “I’m honoured, to be honest. I’m looking forward to the season ahead and can’t wait to get started.

“I know it’s a cliché, but I am buzzing to get going. When I played here in the cup with Hamilton last season, the atmosphere was brilliant. Hopefully the fans can help push us on.

“I’m an attacking full-back. You’ll see me in the box trying to score goals but I also like to create. I’ll put everything into this and will be up and down the right side non-stop.

“The games will come thick and fast but we’ll quickly get used to playing with each other.”

St Johnstone is in the family for Reghan.

He explained: “My dad lived in North Muirton and I’ve got my uncle and his family who are season ticket holders. My wee cousin does the programmes on a Saturday.

“I think this was meant to be. I feel good here. When this was an option, it was a no-brainer.”
