Ruari Paton provided his reaction to Saints TV following our 0-0 draw with Partick Thistle at Firhill.
The forward, who worked hard all night, was quick to praise the phenomenal backing from the 1500-strong Saints support.
He said: “The fans were brilliant. Credit to all of them. Their support was appreciated by us and hopefully they can see that.
“I’m looking forward to every game at the moment. It’s so nice to be in a good place, in a good environment and in a good team.
“I look so forward to the weekends. It sounds weird, but I don’t want the summer to come and the games to end. I love it. The intensity, our fans. It’s what makes you feel alive.
“Hopefully we can enjoy all of this and get to our end goal.”
Paton felt we were unlucky not to leave Glasgow with all three points.
He said: “It was a bit of a battle in the first half. We had the most clear-cut chances.
“The second half was more dominant, we controlled the game and got the ball down. I don’t think we could be too unhappy with a draw.
“We probably should have won the game overall but it’s over now, so we need to look forward to the future.”
He added: “It’s encouraging that we’re getting into good areas and I think we’re playing some really nice stuff, which is refreshing.
“We’ve kept the gap as it is. But, at the end of the day, the only games we can win are ours. We can’t rely on anyone else to do anything.
“The lads have done so well and it’s an absolute pleasure to play with them. If we can continue our momentum, we’ll be fine.”
