Sam Stanton expressed his disappointment that the Saints were only able to take a point from Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Queen’s Park.
But the midfielder also highlighted that there is no point in dwelling on the result and that full focus quickly shifts to next weekend’s trip to Arbroath.
Euan Murray opened the scoring for the visitors at McDiarmid Park before Josh McPake levelled things up after the break.
Stanton said: “The first half was disappointing. We just didn’t get going at all. It’s obviously not what we wanted. Sometimes it just doesn’t work out how you planned.
“We’ll be watching their goal back to get a better picture of what happened. It looked very easy at the time and, from our point of view, very disappointing.
“It was a better response in the second half and we had more than enough chances to win the game. Sometimes you need a bit of luck, or sometimes a bit more composure in front of goal.
“I had a couple of chances myself that I wish I did better with. But we can’t feel sorry for ourselves. We now need to get ready for next week.
“It wasn’t how we wanted the game to go but there are five left now and we’ll be focusing on each one as it comes.
“Arbroath is a difficult place to go. They are third in the league for a reason. We’ll work hard to be ready for it.”
