St Johnstone Football Club can confirm that our upcoming home fixtures on Saturday, November 15 (vs Queen’s Park, kick-off 3pm) and Saturday, December 20 (vs Greenock Morton, kick-off 3pm) in the William Hill Championship have been granted a licence by Perth and Kinross Council for the controlled sale of alcohol at these matches.

This follows the success of our new outdoor fanzone at McDiarmid Park, which opened earlier this season, which features food and drink options alongside entertainment and activities designed to enhance the matchday experience for Saints fans of all ages, and has also proven to be popular with visiting supporters.

As part of this initiative, alcohol will be available to purchase from a pop-up gazebo at the rear of the East Stand at McDiarmid Park. Alcohol purchased from here can be consumed within this area and from two designated areas within the concourse.

Away supporters will also be able to purchase alcohol within their kiosk area of the Geoff Brown Stand.

Both home and away support will be able to purchase alcohol from:

  • 2pm to 2:45pm and during half-time on November 15
  • 2pm to 2:45pm and during half-time on December 20

Following the previous application, the club has been working hard with the council to ensure a safe, accessible catering option can be available to fans and we are thankful to the council for their support in ensuring this can be the case.

These sales will be managed in full accordance with licensing regulations, with appropriate security and stewarding measures in place. The aim of the initiative is to explore how a managed approach to alcohol sales can contribute to a positive and safe matchday experience.

We’d like to remind supporters that alcohol may only be consumed within clearly designated areas and not in sight of the pitch, and all activity will be confined to clearly designated and monitored areas. Regular matchday safety protocols remain unchanged.

We hope this will add to the enjoyment of the matchday experience for supporters and we appreciate your cooperation and support as we participate in this limited trial. We will provide further updates where necessary.
