St Johnstone WFC were unable to make it three wins on the bounce on Sunday when they fell to defeat against Dundee United in SWPL 2.
A double from Jodie Malcolm and a single Eirinn McCafferty goal had Saints 3-0 up but a second-half comeback by United secured a 3-4 victory for the visitors.
Despite the defeat, manager Josh Henderson is determined to remain positive.
He said: “It was a great first hour for us. We stuck to our plan and played some nice stuff and scored some good goals.
“Momentum can shift easy though and that was disappointing for us. We were disappointed with the result, but also the manner of some of the goals.
“We allowed them too much space and that allowed them to add confidence in the game. It was frustrating.
“The girls are disappointed but we need to brush ourselves down and go again. We need to be ready for our next game.”
Saints headed into Sunday’s game against United following back-to-back victories and Josh is looking to return to winning ways when we return to action against East Fife on November 16.
Josh continued: “The two games leading up to Sunday were very good and the wee break before the United game probably didn’t help us.
“We need to get back into it quickly, pick up some points again and we are lookin forward to the East Fife game.
“We need to be back to where we were. It will be another tough game but we are determined to bounce back.”
St Johnstone WFC were also drawn against Queen’s Park in the third round of the Scottish Gas Women’s Scottish Cup this week.
On that draw, Josh added: “It is one that both teams will be looking to win I am sure. They are a good side who we have played already this season.
“The form goes out the window for cup games so we will look forward to that one in a few weeks at the start of December.”
