St Johnstone WFC welcome East Fife to the McDiarmid Park astro on Sunday afternoon for their final home game of the campaign.

Saints, who currently sit ninth in SWPL2, have sights set on putting in the type of performance that will allow them to leapfrog the eighth-placed visitors and out of the play-off spot. The teams currently sit level on points.

Kick-off will be 4pm, with adults priced at £5 and concessions £1. Saints season ticket holders enter for £2. Please note, it is cash only at the gate.

Following a frustrating defeat to Livingston last weekend, manager Josh Henderson knows what is required on home soil this Sunday.

He said: “It is disappointing to find ourselves in this situation and it is obviously one we didn’t want to be in.

“But going into Sunday’s game, we know what we need to do. A win is a must for us to avoid the playoffs. It is in our hands. We don’t need to look at or worry about other results.

“We’ve been working hard this week to make sure we are prepared. Performances have not been up to standard in the last couple of games.

“It has to be better on Sunday because East Fife will make it a tough game. They have done well and have picked up some good results recently.

“There is belief in the squad that we can do much better. We will be ready to go and are in a positive mindset.

“There might be nerves, which is understandable. But you use them in the right way – have that determination and drive to get us over the line.”

A bumper crowd would be appreciated by the team.

Henderson added: “The crowds have been good at home this season. If we can get a few more down on Sunday, it can provide that extra boost. That extra bit of confidence.

“The crowd can drive the team forward so my message is the more fans down at the game the better.”
