St Johnstone WFC are back at the McDiarmid Park astro this week when they welcome Spartans in SWPL2.
It is a 3pm kick-off and as always, we would love to have your support.
Saints are looking to bounce back following defeat to Boroughmuir Thistle last time out and coach Nathan White is confident of a reaction.
Speaking ahead of the weekend, he said: “Moving forward, I think it’s about continuing to play to our strengths and remembering these throughout every game we play. Every game is a battle in SWPL2, we’ll analyse ourselves and Spartans looking ahead to Sunday’s match and come up with our game plan that we think will get us the three points.
“Spartans are a good side, they’ve started their league campaign strongly and we’ve got to make the game uncomfortable for them. We don’t want to allow any team we come up against to have an easy day so it’s about working to our strengths and making sure we hold a good account of ourselves.
“It’s fantastic to be back at our home ground this Sunday. We’d love to see many Saints fans in the crowd. It gives everybody a great boost when we have a good support from our fans so, please come along and get behind our players, for what will be a good match this week.”
On last week’s defeat, Nathan added: “We always know coming to play Boroughmuir is going to be tough. They are a very well organised team that play to their strengths. Personally, I thought we were the better team in the first half, we had control of the game. The first goal from a set piece, we know we can defend better, and the second goal came at the worst moment at the end of injury time.
“Second half, we sat off them a little bit too much and couldn’t really stamp our authority into the match at that point. But there are plenty of positives we can take from the game, going into next Sunday against Spartans.”
