Manager Simo Valakari has helped kick-off the annual Perth Silent Auction.
We have been supporters of the Rotary Club of Perth charity fundraiser from the very start.
This year, the club has donated a hospitality package for four at a McDiarmid match, while fans can also bid for footballs signed the squad and match tickets for key home games against Morton, on December 20, and Dunfermline on January 24.
Simo said: “We are proud of our ties with the community and the club is delighted to show our support for the Rotary Club’s annual fundraiser. They always get a fantastic result, thanks to businesses and all the people who bid for the items which have been donated.
“The hospitality at McDiarmid Park has won many awards and this is a great chance to cheer on the team in style and support deserving causes at the same time.”
This year’s Silent Auction is backing the Cornhill Palliative Care Unit at PRI, Andysmansclub and Perth in Bloom, along with various Rotary charities.
The Rotary club meets weekly at McDiarmid Park and auction convener David Lindsay welcomed St Johnstone’s backing.
He said: “Saints have been with us from the start and it’s fantastic to team-up with the club again. The hospitality package always generates a bidding battle and this year, with the team playing easy on the eye attacking football, it’s sure to be the case once again.”
This is the 18th year of the auction and more than £500,000 has been raised. Lots go under the hammer on Saturday, December 13.
