St Johnstone WFC midfielder Elvie McLean has been named in the SWPL Team of the Week.
Elvie netted two goals in last weekend’s 7-1 victory against Stirling University as she put in a dominant display in the middle of the park.
Speaking after the game, manager Josh Henderson said: “I can’t fault the girls at all today, I thought they were fantastic.
“Right from the start we showed our attacking intent which we had spoken about all week.
The desire to get forward and create chances was brilliant.
“To see goals from different players, and different positions is fantastic. We’ve known it has been there, it has just needed that bit of belief in the attacking intent that we’ve got.
“Of course, any sort of result like today we get a bit of confidence going forward but we’ve got to remain focused. It’s a different game next Sunday and we’ve got to prepare right for that this week.”
Elvie and Saints are back in action at the McDiarmid Park astro this weekend when they face off against Gartcairn.
