Thank you for your generosity

The dedicated team at Saints Fans Supporting Foodbanks received 127 full crates of food and toiletries at our Focus on Foodbanks match against Airdrieonians on Saturday afternoon.

It was their biggest collection ever.

Owner Adam Webb, CEO Francis Smith, director Roddy Grant and midfielder Stevie Mallan were among those to drop off a donation in front of the Ormond Stand.

Home and away supporters dug extremely deep in support of Perth and Kinross Foodbank, showing in full the power of football.

As Saints Fans Supporting Foodbanks noted, a simple thank you seems inadequate.

Saints Fans Supporting Foodbanks posted: “We were, in all honestly, completely blown away by everyone’s generosity.

“Every single one of you helped make the event a massive success and we are completely humbled and indebted to you all.”

Lori Hughes of Perth and Kinross Foodbank provided a message of thanks following the collection.

She said: “It’s not often we struggle to find the words – but what happened at McDiarmid Park was truly beyond anything we could have imagined.

“From the moment the first crates were dropped at York Place, we knew support was building… but nothing could have prepared us for the overwhelming generosity that followed.

“Thanks to St Johnstone Fans Supporting Foodbanks, St Johnstone Football Club, its directors, staff, management, players, Saints in the Community, and fans from both home and away – an incredible estimated 127 crates of food and toiletries were collected to support people across Perth and Kinross this winter.

“We are humbled. We are proud. And we are deeply grateful.”
