The Saints picked up maximum points from Day One at the Tennent’s Sixes in Glasgow on Saturday.
Group stage wins against Dundee and Dundee United positioned us top of the pile ahead of our final group game against Aberdeen on Sunday afternoon (approx 1.25pm kick-off).
Being held at the Braehead Arena, former fans’ favourites are back in Saints colours for the popular six-a-side tournament.
Our squad, led by manager Kieran McAnespie, consists of goalkeeper Kevin Cuthbert, Frazer Wright, Steven Anderson, Callum Booth, Jody Morris, Liam Craig, Gavin Swankie, Peter MacDonald and Cillian Sheridan.
We defeated Dundee 1-0 in the group opener thanks to Sheridan’s neat finish from Craig’s assist.
And then Dundee United were downed 2-1, with Booth and Sheridan netting the all-important goals.
Aberdeen are next up in our final group match early Sunday afternoon, before the knockout stages of the competition begin thereafter.
Thanks to all the Saints supporters who have made the trip through so far – we’ll see more of you today.
COYS!
