It is with great sadness that the board has reached the decision to call off this year’s concert series.
Due to essential pitch renovation works now taking place at the end of the 2025/26 season, McDiarmid Park will no longer be hosting the planned concert series in May.
Club officials have met with several vendors over the past three weeks. The task at hand to revive the pitch is far larger than was previously known.
While we recognise the excitement and anticipation surrounding the concert series, the club’s primary responsibility is to ensure that our pitch project is carried out properly and to the highest possible standard.
We have made a commitment to supporters to improve the playing surface by next season and, after further consideration and discussions with contractors, giving these time-sensitive works our full focus is the required course of action. Proceeding with the concert series would not align with that commitment.
Owner Adam Webb said: “This has not been an easy decision, and we understand the disappointment it may cause to the wider community. I was personally very excited about the concert series and I have spoken with many supporters and Perth residents who felt the same way. We apologise to all of those who have been inconvenienced. The promoters will actively reach out to all ticket holders with next steps.
“Most important is that we make decisions that are in the best interests of the club and that uphold the standards expected at McDiarmid Park. In recent weeks, we have learned that the pitch project is far larger than originally expected. We simply cannot hold off until June 1, we must start the work in May in order to be ready for next season.
“We thank everyone for their understanding as we concentrate on these vital improvements for our football club. Once renovation works are completed and the surface is fully established, we will continue to explore opportunities to host major events and turn the spotlight on the beautiful city of Perth. The experts have told us that, after we redo the pitch, we will be able to hold a concert series in future years.
“So, mark your calendars for the last weekend in May in 2027!”
