St Johnstone supporters are in for a treat this December as our club historians, Alastair Blair and Brian Doyle, release their latest work: Walking down the Dunkeld Road – The History of Muirton Park.
Renowned for their meticulous and passionate approach to Saints’ history, Alastair and Brian have once again produced a book full of remarkable insight, detail, and stories from across generations of supporters.
Learn why the St Johnstone board were taking a big risk in building the new ground at Muirton in 1924. Discover how long and how much it cost to build. Witness the slow and gradual decay over the years, and find out more about some of the amazing games that took place there.
To mark the release, the book will officially launch on Tuesday, December 16 from 6pm until 7pm in the Muirton Suite at McDiarmid Park. A number of former players who graced the pitch at Muirton will be in attendance, sharing their memories and signing copies – making this a fantastic occasion for supporters of all ages.
The book has a foreword by owner Adam Webb and costs £25 for a paperback. Hardback versions will also be available to order at £35 each.
