Callum Davidson appointed as St. Johnstone Manager

St. Johnstone Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Callum Davidson as Manager on a three-year-deal.

Callum returns to the Club following two spells as a player before emabarking on his coaching career at McDiarmid Park as assistant manager to Tommy Wright.

The 43-year-old began work at the stadium today as he prepares for the players returning for testing on Monday.

Speaking shortly after his unveiling as the new boss, Callum said: "I'm delighted. I know the place well and I just can't wait to get started.

"I was really enjoying my time working down south with Gary Rowett at Millwall but when the call came from the Chairman to come back here it was too good an opportunity to turn down.

"I've learned a lot in the few years I've been away elsewhere and it's given me ideas on how I want to manage.

"There will be limitations to start because of COVID-19 and it's strange times for everyone but we'll deal with it.

"I'm looking forward to working with the players and I know most of them. It's a younger squad now compared to when I left and I want to develop and educate the players. Football is a constant learning process.

"I think the supporters know what they'll get with me. I'll approach management with the same attitude I approached playing.

"I will work hard every day to be as successful as possible. Hard work is crucial not just from me but from my players and backroom staff too.

"And, just like when I was a player, I'll do my job with passion."

Callum's full first interview as St. Johnstone Manager is available to watch on Saints TV now.
